All About Poppy Rose & Our Ingredients

Once upon a time, my family used to own a bath, body & candle business in the North Georgia Mountains; so I grew up embracing my creative side and loving to create products for people to love and cherish.

After serving in the U.S. Navy and working in the corporate world, I decided it was time to come back to my passion. I source the best ingredients and spend countless hours researching how each one can benefit you. I do not believe in cutting corners or compromising the quality of my products.

The name "Poppy Rose" is symbolic. The Poppy is a flower that symbolizes remembering those who are no longer with us. The rose, especially pink ones, was my late mother's favorite flower and also symbolizes beauty.
Fun fact: my ES dog is also named Poppy, she is our Chief Soap Sniffer and an Instagram Star on our channel, @poppyrosesoapco.

You are always our #1 priority and we are very attentive to our customers. If there are ever any issues, or if you just want to say hi, send us an email at hello [!at] poppyrosesoap.com! We look forward to pampering you!

With love & light,

Courtney & Poppy

Some of our products are vegan, being a former vegan myself I will explicitly state if a product is considered 100% vegan. That means, hitting all of the marks for sustainability and to make sure there are no animal products or byproducts.

While I understand that there are different levels of veganism, here is an explanation of ingredients that would cause me to say a product of mine is NOT vegan:

BEESWAX - We are acutely aware of the colony collapse disorder (CCD) happening with our bees. (https://www.epa.gov/pollinator-protection/colony-collapse-disorder) That being said, we only purchase beeswax from small farms in Florida and South Dakota. Our Beeswax is 100% pure and never chemically bleached.

PALM OIL - We only use sustainably-sourced palm oil that adheres to the standards set forth by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO), which is an organization that supports sustainable palm oil production.

SILK - We use Tussah silk fibers in some of our soaps to add an extra luxurious lather and of course a silky feel and sheen to the skin. As part of our commitment to being cruelty-free, we only purchase from suppliers who are committed to harvest the cocoons after the silkworm has moved.

WHOLE MILK POWDER - This ingredient is without a doubt not vegan. We use 26% Whole Milk Powder that is from a reputable and high-quality supplier. This powder is only used in some of our Milk Bath formulations as it is a healthy addition to our formula. It is a natural emollient that is rich in vitamins and minerals. It soothes and moisturizes your skin and can also help with dry and itchy skin.

OTHER ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS:

COCONUT OIL - We only buy coconut oil from companies that have been certified Fair Trade, not only to humans but animals as well. There are countries out there that have monkeys pick coconut for their production. (http://allamericanvegan.com/2015/02/19/did-an-abused-monkey-pick-your-coconut/)
